EFS Gives Back-Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Days
Two work crews from Essex Financial totaling 19 people volunteered their time and energy to assist in the construction of houses being built by Habitat for Humanity.
On June 7th, the team was assigned to a home being built in Hamden for a veteran. Work consisted mainly of finishing work such as painting, tiling and landscaping. Much progress was made and a tired crew took satisfaction in helping to move the project toward completion. The consensus was that, though it was hard work, members of the EFS team look forward to assisting again at some point in the future.
On June 15th, a different set of volunteers went to a site in New Haven. Here the work was very different as this new home was in its early stages of construction. The majority of the day was spent raising and framing walls on the second story of the home. Again, hard but satisfying work.
Through the “EFS Gives Back” program, employees of Essex Financial donate time and money to assist with worthy community projects. We look forward to our next project which will be in conjunction with the holiday season.
