A message from our President & CEO, Chuck Cumello
I wanted to send you a note to let you know how Governor Lamont’s order to have all workers at non-essential businesses stay at home starting tonight at 8:00 affects Essex Financial. Truly these are unprecedented times with each day providing new challenges to both our emotional and financial psyches. I think it is critically important that I keep you updated as these new developments occur.
Essex Financial and the financial services industry fall under “critical infrastructure workers” as defined by the Department of Homeland Security. As such, our contingency plan that was executed last Tuesday will remain in effect. As a reminder, that plan has our firm split into three teams with each team working two days in the office and four days remotely. I am happy to tell you that the plan is working well and everyone here is getting comfortable in this new environment. I can also tell you everyone is very much looking forward to getting back to business as usual.
I also wanted to reiterate, the health and safety of our staff and clients is paramount. As such, we have discontinued physical meetings for the foreseeable future and are not receiving clients in our offices. We are leveraging technology platforms such as Zoom for video conferencing, as well as phone conferences. We are using these solutions to meet daily with our teams and clients.
Like all the crises that have come before, this one too will end. None of us will know in advance as to when, or why, but it will end.
We will be here for you every step of the way. As always, we are fully committed and look forward to working with you during this difficult period.
Wishing you and your family continued health during this trying time.
All the best,
President & CEO
